Memories of Orientation Day

Assalamualaikum and very good morning, afternoon, and evening. No matter what time is now I wish you guys have a great days. Firstly, I would like to introduce about our background, my name is Ikmal and I’m originally from Ayer Hitam, Kedah. And my friends name is Muaz he’s from Alor Setar,Kedah state that is known as Eagle state. Today my friend and I want to share our experience with you guys about our orientation days. We’re still hot and young students that always listened to our lecturer. We hopes that our experience could give you guys a good things to learn and don’t take the bad things.

03/07/2017 is the dates that we will never erase from our mind, one of the memorable times in our life. That days was the registration day and the first day of the orientation. The orientation was held about four days from Monday until Thursday. At the first days, after the registration we were gathered at the TAMAN PERMODALAN which at the girl’s hostel. When we arrived the facilitator taken over. The first things that they did was they introduce their name and they lie about their age, some of them said that their age is 28, 24, 20 and other. And we actually believed it, to be honest some of them do looked like the age that they said. The first activities was “ice breaking”. Ice breaking is dividing groups from hundreds of students to a couple of group. After we got our group members they gave us a noodle and they wanted us to not to break the noodle. There will be a punishment which is every group members will eat a chili. My group was group one and Muaz got into group six.
Furthermore, in forth JULY we gathered at the same place. The boys hostels are at TAMAN RAKYAT and some of the student didn’t lived at the hostels and they went to the TAMAN PERMODALAN by their motorcycles and the boys who lived at the hostel go there by bus. And our first activities was we did a morning exercised. After that, we were given the academic briefing about one hours the academic briefing, they talked about the rules that students should follows, why KPTM is one of the best college, the clubs that we should join, the benefits that we get if we studied at here and others. The examples of the rules is, every academic activities including activities that be held by KOLEJ POLY-TECH MARA should be participate by all students. Students also should not conduct, manage, help and participate the activities that lead to gambling inside or outside campus. The rules also forbidden students to smoking or distribute cigarettes but among the male students we make our own rules that’s is we can smoking inside the campus but make sure don’t get caught by the warden or any lecturer or any campus workers. And also students appearance at the campus is formal that’s means student should not wear any short trouser or only t-shirt. At 3:30 until 5:30 the facilitator introduce to us the activities that involved cooperation among members, we did a tagline and created our group name, Ikmal group name was “brilliant” it’s because brilliant members are the chosen one and Muaz group name was “mak cun bedak bedak” it’s because one of the facilitator is called as “mak cun”. These activities can indirectly entangle the relationship between group members and also build the sweetest memories in the second days of the orientation days and every activities that be held is very fun.

The third day of the orientation is the climax of the orientation days, the third days is the most special days. After we gathered at the same place we, the first things the facilitator wanted us to do was dancing. All the guys looked very awkward and shy because the song that they turned on was very funny. And after that we took our breakfast and we had an entrepreneurship briefing which is how to sell a thing. What we learned from this briefing is we has to be brave and also we should never shy to sell something’s. To sell a things we should be more creative on how to use our words and the lecturer told us what the difference between business men and entrepreneurships, the difference is business men sell a product that already exist and entrepreneurships is they do innovative to a products and sell the products. After that, we did an activities that involves the facilitator. The activities about one hours there was seven check point and we have to complete the mission at each check point such as check point one, the group has to sing the national song loudly and if we they don’t satisfied we will get punishment such as they will paint our faces with a lipstick and others. There was no group that finished the check point so there was no winner. And the last activities that we did was we sing the KPTM song and recite the KPTM pledge before the closing event.

Lastly, the orientation days is the most special days that ever happened to us after we got into the student life. There’s a lot of memories that we can’t be forget and some of the memories are bitter to swallow but that’s why we called it as a memories and this is the stories that we will tell our kids or grandchildren’s. When we old, we will remember this events and smile or laughing because there is funny moments, sad moments, happy moments and others at the same time we will remember the old glory days.
